After months of waiting and constant
rumours about apple’s latest flagship devices, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

little tweaks, one of them being a funky home button. The device will be
released on September 16 in 30 countries. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a
little longer here in Kenya.

Look and feel
Apple has replaced the grey colour in the
new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with Matte Black and Glossy Black to join Rose
Gold, Gold and Silver. The new colours are meant to distinguish iPhone 7 for
iPhone 6 users and are only available in the 256 and 128GB models. The device
is aesthetically similar to its predecessor, but the antennae bands have been
moved to the edges.
Performance
The new 64-bit 4-core CPU Apple A10 Fusion
processor on the device has ramped up the graphics and is 40 percent faster
than the A9 processor in the iPhone 6 and two times faster than A8 processers.
The A10 Fusion processor combines power and efficiency in a unique way and
ensures the smooth running of the new Apple IOS 10. The iPhone 7 has a 2GB RAM
while the iPhone 7 Plus has a 3GB RAM due to the increased demands of a
dual-camera system and the software necessary to process images.
Other additional features
Apple has ditched the 3.5mm jack on the
iPhone 7 and replaced it with the lightning AirPods that connect wirelessly via
the lightning port. The move to remove the 3.5mm jack is aimed at creating room
for more technology. To create a smooth transition, Apple has included a 3.5mm
adapter on each box. The only downside is that you cannot listen to music while
the phone is charging.
Longer battery life
According to the company, people upgrading
from iPhone 6S to iPhone 7 will get at least 2 hours of additional battery life
due to processor improvements and a stronger battery.
Summary
Apple claims that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7
Plus are the most advanced smartphones in the market. Stay tuned for more news
on the price and availability of the device in the country.
