Google will officially release the latest
version of the Android operating system in few weeks. The new version’s release
date has been moved from the usual October timeframe that most people have been
accustomed to since the 2013 launch of the KitKat version. Android 7.0 officially be referred to as Android Nougat and is only
one step away from final official release, till then, Android OS phone
manufacturers will have to modify their own versions of the software and push
it to their users.
However, the beta version of Android N is available for
latest Nexus devices, Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P and is also compatible with the Sony
Experia Z3, oddly. The release of Android N preview has led to projections on
how the operating system may look like in consumer devices later this year. It
is important to note that the beta version preview is subject to change, which
the point of its release. Here are some the outstanding features
Multi-window
support
The multi-window will allow Android Nougat users to split screen
and open two apps at once, although Samsung and LG users have been able to use
this feature for a few years now. Video playing apps will have a
picture-in-picture option available in Apple’s IOS9 IPad Air. This means that
users can, for instance, check out their twitter feed while watching video on
YouTube.
Google Assistant
In order to get things done, the Google
Assistant software will now allow Android
Nougat users to engage the device a lot more effortlessly in a back-to-back
exchange. The user can use this feature to perform simple tasks like make
reservations or find a restaurant.
Android nougat night mode feature
The Android system UI tuner has integrated
the night mode feature in the Android 7.0
Nougat OS. An option is available to automatically on and off such that when
you pick the phone up at night, the strain caused by the blue light can be
reduced. This is achieved by changing the colour to a yellowed shade. This idea has already been implemented by
Apple’s iOS9.3, referred to as the night shift feature.
Doze on the Go 2.0
Android
7.0 nougat will thoroughly limit background
processes to save energy anytime the screen turns off. This feature will be an
improvement to Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s Doze and the device doesn’t have to be
stationary, it could be in motion, and this feature will still work as long as
the screen is turned off. The idea is to make Android nougat accessible to low-end devices.
Reply in a notification
This feature will allow users to respond to
notifications directly from the notification bar without having to close opened
apps. The feature is only currently available on Google’s Hangouts message
app. This means that other popular
messaging apps like Whatsapp will be able to incorporate this feature.
Bundled
notifications
Using this feature, developers will be able
to group notification from their app into one bundle. The user can expand the
bundle to view individual notifications by clicking. This feature will help
reduce the mess on the notification menu after receiving too many notifications
from in different apps.
