Nokia to release Two Android Nougat Phones Soon!
Former giant cell phone manufacturer Nokia
is expected to a comeback with two Android nougat smartphones soon, using
Google mobile operation system’s next iteration. Pictures of what seems to be
the Nokia smartphones have emerged online just a few weeks after Nokia made the
announcement that the company has given their trademark name Nokia another
company. It was sometime in May this year that Nokia gave an exclusive global
licence to HMD to manufacture and distribute Nokia branded smartphones and
tablets for the next decade. Rumours suggest that the two smartphones are
currently in their prototype development stage and could be unveiled in the
last quarter of this year.
In addition to the Android nougat operating system,
both smartphones are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset and
Nokia's z launcher.
Regarding the display, one of the device is
expected to come with a 5.5-inch QUALCOMM high definition OLED screens while
the other one is a smaller 5.2 HD screen of the same quality. On top of that,
both smartphones are expected to come with dustproof protection and IP68
waterproof features same as in the Samsung Galaxy s7 and s7 edge. Rumours about
the devices’ screen resolution are inconclusive. To complement the high-quality
displays and top notch camera features, you can expect decent sensors on the
devices owing to the ‘wonder material graphene’ research
Nokia has heavily
invested in for the past few years and a whole lot of other exciting
innovations with the camera.
The two high performing Nokia smartphones
will come with the famous Nokia feel wrapped in a sleek metallic design.
Nokia’s premium user interface, the z launcher has seen some improvements and
the resulting product may have the touch and hover interaction feature. The
smartphones will be made by HMD Global, a company based in Finland. The latest
we can expect these Nokia devices in the market is from the beginning of 2017.
Nokia was once a king in the manufacture of
smartphone and handsets in general before Samsung and Apple dethroned it, and
if these rumours are anything to go by, there is a good chance of the fallen
giants of reclaiming the top spot with these two flagship projects. The Finnish
company’s move to use the windows os platform in smartphone manufacturing
proved to be a wrong move, with the company eventually being forced to sell its
smartphone business to Microsoft for a price of 7.2 billion US dollars.
If online reviews are anything to go by,
the Nokia brand is still strong as ever. A lot of Nokia enthusiasts and long
standing fans are eagerly waiting for these devices, and there is a good chance
they are going to be a commercial success.
The Android operating systems fixes
all the past problems Nokia have had, Windows OS couldn’t simply compete with
Android and IOS. It was a well-optimized system, but it lacked content and
adequate smartphone services. The devices are still in the prototype stage,
which means a lot could change over time. We will keep you updated on any
changes.
