HP releases the Spectre 13 world's slimmest laptop
-Advertisement-
HP has recently released their latest
creation, the new HP Spectre 13
complete with carbon fibre and a gold bling is arguably the world’s most
luxurious laptop. The company has been putting much emphasis on design and use
of top-notch material since the release of the spectre x360. The 13-inch
ultra-thin notebook is easy on the eyes, high-performance laptop and claims to
be the world’s first ever laptop to offer core-i7 and core-i5 processors on
0.41-inch thickness. Sleek design and ultra-thin laptops have become the
company’s production philosophy evident on the spectre, pavilion and envy
lines. The spectre, however, stands out it is clear that HP went back to the
drawing board to redesign it.

Here’s a full review.
Look and feel
Regarding style and design, this laptop is
a complete stunner. The notebook measures at only 0.41 inches, the laptop,
feels extremely light weighing only 2.42 pounds. The company says that they
were inspired by furniture design during the creation of the HP Spectre 13, as seen to the laptop’s
hinge with a bleached out copper coating and how it uses two curved hooks to
keep the display and the lid hovering over the rear chassis. The entire hinge
is jewelled gold, bright and is moved in from the very rear end to avoid
unnecessary bulk and steals most of the notebook’s attention. The hinge also
maintains the lid firmly in place without falling forward or backwards inconveniently
with slight movements. Nobody wants the thin laptop flexing from slight touches
and to avoid this, HP uses a unique blend of the materials used provide the
right balance between the stiffness and weight when it comes to the lid. The
bottom panel of the laptop is carbon fibre while the lid, as well as the
laptop’s hinge, are an aluminium mechanism.
Software
The HP
Spectre 13 is your general window 10 laptop. The company doesn’t weigh down
the performance of the laptop with unnecessary software. The only thing that
users are going to miss is the fingerprint sensor and the security features
that come with Windows hello. You are going to have to use a password to
protect your privacy. There are a few HP branded apps on the laptop such as the
HP Welcome where you can register your notebook for warranty services and the
HP ePrint that monitors what you print.
Performance
The HP
Spectre 13 beats most of its competitors concerning performance in various
benchmark tests. Don’t expect any problems when working with this laptop for
long hours. It is highly unlikely that many of the laptop’s users will be using
it for heavy gaming, but the HP Spectre has proved itself in that department
too.
Battery
Online reviews show a little disappointment
concerning the battery life. The company promises up to 9 hours of battery life
after being fully charged which I think they delivered. To fit onto its
ultra-thin design, the battery is split into four polymer cells that can last
for at least a whole working day under moderate use.
Summary
The HP
Spectre 13 doesn’t have a touchscreen like many premium window laptops and
in addition to some other few compromises, we’ve seen on this notebook. It is,
however, a remarkable notebook for work and fun you if you can afford it.
