HTC ONE M10 REVIEW AND SPECIFICATIONS
-Advertisement-
After a poor performance in the smartphone market last year with HTC Desire 530 and One A9, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is back this year with the brand new HTC 10. With its latest creation, the company is out to give users a fantastic Android experience through a combination of a robust set of features.
Here is the full review:
Build and design
The device is decently crafted from metal and has a 5.2 inch HD (2560 x 1440) display. It has an elegant curve at the back that is cool to touch and also helps the device to rest comfortably in the palm of your hand. The physical design lacks originality though as one can easily confuse it for a Samsung Galaxy S7 of an iPhone from a distance but for most people, it is a perfect blend of style and substance. This sleek design is however broken by antennae lines running from top to bottom like in most metal phones. The camera button sits at the centre and the volume and power buttons along the side of the phone. Everything is symmetrical, with the camera sensor, headphone jack and USB-C port on the bottom and in line with each other.
Software
The phone’s operating system is a blend of Android 6.0.1 and manufacturers software that results in an impressive interpretation of Android. The newest version of Sense UI is HTC’s cleanest and adopts many elements from the stock version of Android. This phone makes the user’s experience on Android much more cohesive and smooth.
Performance
The HTC 10 operations are powered by a combination of a 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 that boosts its multitasking capabilities in addition to an improved gaming experience. The phone does not experience any lagging or overheating from heavy operations such as photo editing or 3D gaming.
Camera
HTC has never really been excellent with its camera. This latest device, however, is a different experience. It uses an ultra-pixel sensor that results in brighter pictures by allowing more light into the lens. The phone can take really good indoor and outdoor pictures with precise colour representation minus the horrible over-sharpening associated with poor camera apps. The phone’s camera app is easy to navigate and has multiple capture modes.
Battery
The manufacturer claims that the battery can last up to two days but in the real sense, the 3,000mAh battery tucked inside the HTC 10 can only last for a day under moderate use.
