Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Leak
-Advertisement-
Samsung has confirmed the launch of their
latest project, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, will launch in New York on the 2nd
of August 2016. The Note 7 is Samsung’s third announcement in 2016, following
the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge which debuted in March this year at the
mobile world congress. Samsung announced
in a blog post where they confirmed its launch and gave an explanation to why
they jumped a digit to call it the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 instead of Note 6.
They chose the name to minimise confusion and to complement its Galaxy S7 and
S7 Edge flagships. It is still unclear on the galaxy note 7 specs, but rumours
are handy in creating a rough picture on what the device will be like. Here are
the most likely features:
Design and display
According to rumours, both the flat and
curved screen designs were being developed with only one of them making it to
the market, which most likely the curved version. The phablet will look a lot
like the galaxy s7 edge with just a few additions, one of which is going to be
the S pen. The device will also come with an iris scanner on the upper
right-hand side of its front. The device is most likely going to be a USB
Type-C port on the bottom to support fast charging of its 4000mAh battery. The
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is set to launch with a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display.
Smartphones are not yet powerful enough to jump to 4k displays so the Note 7 is
most likely to remain at 2k quad HD display.
Hardware
The Note 7 is rumoured to be coming with an
Exynos chipset or a Qualcomm Snapdragon same as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7
edge as well as 6GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. Whether the
phablet will come with the QUALCOMM Snapdragon or the Exynos chipset will
depend on the region.
Software
It is nearly certain that the Samsung
Galaxy Note 7 will be unveiled with the Android Marshmallow 6.0 together with
Samsung's Touch Wiz user interface integrated with the operating system as a
second skin. Reports claim that the UI is a beta version of a new Touch wiz
that is still being developed.
Camera
The Note 7 will most likely inherit the
Samsung Galaxy S7 12-megapixel Dual Pixel camera, hailed as one of the best
features of the S7, in addition to a 5MP front facing camera. Samsung Electro-Mechanics
Co., under the Samsung Group, started to design its own dual lens cameras
earlier this year with mass production set to kick off any time this year. The
dual-lens camera offers improved zooming capabilities, wider-angle image
capture, enhanced lighting and adjustable post-capture focusing among other
benefits.
Battery
A device’s battery life is a complicated
subject to discuss or predict before its launch, why? Because the battery life
depends on so many factors. But here is what is known; the Galaxy Note 7 will
feature a sizeable 4,000Ah battery, a significant improvement to the 3,000Ah
cell used in its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5. We should, therefore, expect
improved battery life as the device will be launching with a more efficient
processor (Snapdragon 820) in addition to the fact that Samsung will not be
upgrading to the battery draining 4K display. It is unclear whether the battery
will be removable or not.
In summary, the Note 7 is expected to be
much like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge with the addition of the S-PEN feature. The
device is more likely to launch in the curved design with improved specs and a
more powerful processor, better camera and possibly more RAM. In Kenya, the
Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s price will definitely be north of KSH. 70,000. Expect
more updates as more features continue to leak.
